A LITTLE ABOUT DANA LEJEUNE

Dana has extensive experience working with children, young people, and their families, many of whom have faced trauma, social challenges, and emotional difficulties. Her professional background includes roles as a Registered Psychologist, School Psychologist, Teacher, and School Wellbeing Leader, giving her a broad and deep understanding of supporting individuals through diverse challenges.

Dana’s approach is rooted in fostering connection and creating a sense of safety. With compassion and a deep understanding of life’s challenges, she helps clients uncover and address the underlying causes of emotional patterns and difficulties. In the safe and supportive therapy space she provides, clients are guided to gain insight into recurring patterns and gently explore their emotions. Together, we will discover strategies to navigate difficult thoughts and feelings, while building greater self-understanding, resilience, and a sense of connection.

Dana takes a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach. She believes in building strong, meaningful connections with her clients. Her approach is rooted in helping individuals develop the tools to better understand themselves and navigate their relationships with others. By working within a trauma-informed framework, Dana prioritizes creating an environment of safety, connection, and understanding. By deeply listening to understand their challenges, she creates a space where trust can flourish, guiding clients toward greater self-awareness and resilience.

With compassion and a non-shaming perspective, Dana helps individuals recognize their existing strengths, skills, and resources.She empowers individuals to cultivate a sense of control, safety, and belonging. Her genuine and inclusive approach ensures that every client feels heard, valued, and supported on their journey toward growth and well-being.

Dana specializes in supporting young people who are navigating the challenges of trauma. She is passionate about supporting individuals and their families through difficult times, fostering growth and healing along the way.

Dana's compassionate approach is grounded in understanding and respect. She brings extensive experience working with individuals from First Nations communities. She has a particular focus on addressing school refusal. 

Through a strong therapeutic relationship, Dana aims to:

Dana uses a range of evidence-based approaches, primarily drawing on Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness- based approaches and play therapy.

She uses trauma-informed together with emotion focused therapies.
